Is Zak Starkey no longer playing drums with The Who? Also heard Rabbit is out, too. Rabbit is out, he confirmed it on (subsequently removed) bitter blog post before the Quadrophenia-tour. I don't know of Zak's status, he left during the same tour cause of tendon injury with Scott Devours taking over the drums, but haven't heard any news of him recently.

As life long who fans surely we deserve the respect of knowing at least who is going to be on stage before we all get too excited

This thread made me go to Rabbit's site after ages. Seems like he's not doing so well, selling the keyboard he used at Superbowl through his blog.

According to this report of today's tour press conference, Zak might be reinstalled to the group.

Zak seems very content with his own band at the moment, touring. I wouldn't be surprised not to see him back.

Although I'd love to see Zak again and seeing Kenny playing with them the other week hit the nostalgia chord I think Scott does a great job playing The Who and I have no reason to think that it won't just be Pete playing with Rogers band which is fine with me!!

No news about the topic, but came across with this clip of Zak playing I Can't Explain, Pinall Wizard and Summertime Blues with The Hiwatts at Simon Daltley's 50th.

I hope that's correct. Zak after all, is the world's second best Keith Moon type drummer.

It doesn't say Zak is back. It just lists the musicians of the Quad tour (and claims it is TBC). Otherwise it would mean that the brass section will be present on the new tour.

Pete has said that Roger has a great band just now and he's looking forward to going out with them.So it will be interesting to see the line up but if this is anything to go by I don't think it's going to be the usual touring band either this or they are going to be augmented with other musicians.I just hope this doesn't turn into a repeat of the 1989 tour with lots of "extra" musicians.

They always play better with Zak. What a shame that he was only 13 years old in 1978.

Oh, and Rog attempted and made the high note in "I fight for my meals.." - he'd been pulling out of that one for a while. Roll on December.

rejuvinated ?.. hmmm no... same tired cr*p played same way with inferior weak sound/playing as always... nothing rejuvinated here... really shame that once again this predics that Townshend seems clearly not wanting do someting interesting/unique and truly rejuvinating, instead will be touring once again with Who playing same sh*t in same order all over again...
Where are truly rejuvinated solo shows from Townshend with new material and actually interesting old stuff... that would be rejuvinated.. this and upcoming tour will once again be 100% opposite..

I hope I'm wrong but it sounds like Roger's voice is autotuned during Baba...it's too pitch-perfect...
