Watched last night for the first time in a year and forgot the gems that are on it . Would love to see the full footage of the marquee gig in 1965 ? Where they play heatwave and rog is in the tweedsuit . How likely is this or has more been seen from this show ? Thanks

I'd like to see more of that uncirculated Pontiac '75 footage. You can see an uncirculated clip in that "6 Quick Ones" sequence, I think it's either the one on John or Pete that shows it.

I'd also like to see this E.It's on the Pete section of the "six quick ones"It shows a clip of My wife with pete.It sounds great even though it's a very short clip.At least we know the whole Pontiac'75 show probably does exist.I think the band are on fire on the latter part of the show that circulates,I'd love too see this one in it's entirety.

Modo, I'm guessing that was footage donated from the "inner circle" of Who collectors. It's in b&w too. Funny, the first video I ever got of this show (back in '89) was b&w too (and full of tape anamolies). I also got Tanglewood in b&W from the same bootlegger at the same time. I was so disgusted with the quality of both of them back then, I chucked them both in the trash! LOL!

AJ is a hotch potch of pro and amateur footage. Its a a fairly good doc on the band but is not made by fans. It skims through the bands career. Its frustrating and enjoyable in equal measures. A crowd pleaser, just like their live shows. Snore....

It seems to be from the same source though?Same angles etc.I thought they might have just been switching from colour to black &white for effect really? They also show the time code sometimes and not others but again it seems to be the same footage. Was it just from pinball wizard onward the black and white footage you got back in'89?Must have been pretty bad if you chucked it.I couldn't bring myself to chuck any who content no matter how bad lol.

Yeah Modo, it was the same as the circulating footage we have (in nice color) today, no more content than that. Nothing lost with chucking my old tape, lol!

Anyone besides me ever wonder why they used such awful footage of the Tanglewood video when there was much better quality already circulating?

Trying to figure out why people do or don't do things that we don't know is a lesson in frustration and a waste of time. We, as fans, would love to see all available footage of any Moon era live footage, but that will never happen because those individuals who have such footage in their possession, be it Who related company people or fans with rare film will either release it for public viewing one day, or they won't. Whatever their reasons will never be known to us hopeful fans, so waiting for such things to emerge may never happen. It is nice to see the odd bits of film appearing every now and then just the same. I have heard that there is a bit more footage of the Who concerts from Manchester in 1973 included in the fairly new film about the mods in England in the sixties. There are parts of these concerts in the Amazing Journey dvd, my favorite part being when the cameraman is filming behind Moon's drums and Keith looks around at the filmer and smiles. Lovely. If so, if anyone can clarify this, please let us fans know so that I do not buy this film just for this reason, and then watch it and find out that this is not true. Thanks.

You can save your money on that one, Alvin. I have the Mods doc and it looks to be pretty much the same amount of Manchester footage as in AJ - I didn't really recognize anything new. In fact, I don't remember it showing any of the b&w footage from Manchester that was in the AJ doc (mainly the PT knee slide).

Thanks for the helpful information, Hammersmith. It truly is a pity that the same film is always shown in anything new that comes out on the Who, or films that concern the Who in one way or another. Such a shame. I will surely not buy the dvd now, knowing that I would buy the same thing I already have. Also, I would love to see the Pontiac 1975 film in it's entirety, since I was at this show personally, and the first part not in circulation yet is fantastic from what I can remember of the concert, at least from my perspective of where I was standing in the audience, which was about eighty feet from the front of the stage, on Townshend's side, or right hand side of the stadium. Fantastic performance. Why whoever has the whole show doesn't release it is a f***ng mystery to me, but as I have already said, why this person won't is only known by them. Maybe one day we shall see it, but oy vey, it would be nice to see it before we all get too old to care.

i think the obvious answer to releasing this stuff is money... while we love this footage and just want it to be appreciated, to a filmmaker this may have been just another job..the whole idea is to make cash whether that be to sell it to distributor or to keep it ultra rare and sell at Christy's auctions...
if they just wanted people to enjoy the footage, they just throw it up on youtube or torrents...

I wonder if there will be any "extras" or just the same dvd re released? I guess it will be the same. Universal's site mentions only "brand new artwork".
