Okaaaay...we're going to up the stakes with this one. Not only will the winner receive free lifetime forum access for the duration of the forum's lifetime, I'll even say a personal "Hello" to you in the thread! Review Number 11
A very fast exciting sort of production. The usual Who fire - and the subject matter is likely to capture a lot of interest. Great strident phrases on guitar and some as-ever power-housing from the magnificent Mr. Moon. The Who hit out hard and hit out well. Should be a sizeable hit.
Flip: All rather strange, but it becomes clearer after a few spins.
CHART CERTAINTY.

OK....I'm going to warn you in advance there's an unexpected twist with this one.... Review Number 12
Earthy r-and-b sounds emerge as Roger Daltrey wails over his messages, aided by the others vocally and instrumentally. The two guitarists get a full sound, and drummer Townshend really beats out a compelling rhythm. There may be disagreement within the group, but when they get together they put on a united performance!

"The two guitarists", "drummer Townshend"?
I think of two singles but i'm gonna go with "Magic Bus".

Both wrong, unfortunately, but you do have the correct decade.
And remember the twist I mentioned? Think bigger...

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Right year, wrong answer.
Although in fairness I did mention there was an unexpected twist. And that twist was...the review being for an album. But given the way-out description of who was playing what, I don't think prior knowledge of the format would have been of additional use!

Review Number 13
Highly topical with a novelty lyric about male attire. Medium twister, but with an inconsequential tune. Harmonica leads into broken unison vocal. Compelling style but weakish material.

I think this is a tremendous record - and I urge all to study it closely. OK, the lyrics are controversially minded, but the performance is also good and so is the backing track.
Flip: rather more exciting but in some ways a trifle overdone.

Apologies for my delay in responding. Nnic pulled it out of the hat with Pictures Of Lily....then technically threw his win away by going on to guess Pinball Wizard....but just this once I'll overlook it. So, Nnic wins the much coveted Free Lifetime Membership Of The Forum. I'm starting to run a bit low on my supply of those, so I may have to come up with a new prize. Anyway! It just goes to show how times have changed when those lyrics are considered "controversially minded". Look at some of the wording found in today's mainstream chart hits... Next up....who will correctly name this "walloping stormer"? Review Number 15
The top side is particularly invigorating with its strong surf influence, and the whole disc moves at a wild pace, and emits some startling sounds.
It's taken from their **** LP and doesn't really represent the contemporary Who; all the same, it's a walloping stormer, noteworthy for a personality performance from Roger, and some spine-tingling heavy-handed drumming.
The flip is a medium-pacer with a more strident and earthy approach. Could conceivably get a touch on the strength of the group's reputation.
Not an obvious hit, but might click.
The only clue I can give at this point is that even though I know the answer I do not recognise the song from that description. So...good luck!

Right decade, wrong song.
A totally useless clue; this was the band's lowest charting UK single of that year. Charting so low that it failed to chart. I suppose another clue, arguably, is to think of a song which least matches the description.
