Shame about the abysmal artwork....and the renaming of 5:15..... Also the title of the first track should've needed some proofreading

Oh man. My brain was so distracted by the curious nature of the artwork I missed that one myself.
That's bad isn't it? Two songs named incorrectly. I can't think of any other major act who've suffered that fate....can't wait to see the accompanying booklet!

5.99 on amazon...this release seems like some kind of afterthought
I’d enjoy a vinyl of the bonus disk just to capture them together
But the track list of the main album makes no sense

I’d enjoy a vinyl of the bonus disk just to capture them together But the track list of the main album makes no sense I'd possibly be tempted to buy the live disc if released as a standalone. Odd though how they've tagged that sole track from this century onto the end of a collection of material otherwise drawn from 1969/70. Given the title the studio section of the album certainly makes no sense, with lots of "essential" missing and much "non-essential" included. That aside, I do think it makes a refreshing change from the same-old-same-old. But it's hard to envisage which audience they're aiming for. The track selection is of no interest to the average fan, and lacks a large number of the hits which would be the main lure to the casual listener. Oh well, I suppose there's no point worrying too much. I'm sure there'll be another compilation coming down the road soon enough. And inspired by this release I'm off to blow the dust from my CD of Who's Better Who's Best.....

I'm all for album cuts and deep cuts being incorporated in to Who compilations but I think they overdid it here. For a newcomer fan getting this comp wouldn't give you much incentive to check out A Quick One or Sell Out. I do like seeing Naked Eye on a Who compilation other than Odds and Sods but if I think if I was compiling a Who best of for a mass audience then I'd use the studio version.
The only way I see me getting interested in Who compilations at this point is if they throw in a few interesting previously unreleased tracks or incorporate some of the American single mixes not included on the Maximum A's and B's box cause that focused on UK singles and was held back from it's full potential because of some of Jon Astley's choices.

Interesting that It’s Not Enough is the Endless Wire track. It’s a great track that should have made it into the live set (and I think was played by Roger’s solo band at some point?). That one and Black Widow’s Eyes are as strong as any in The Who canon.

They should think about using the promo mix of It's Not Enough with an extra bit of Pete's guitar at the end the next time they make a Who compilation.
