Where the hell is that discussion of how they lost money making "Who"?
Just watched a video about Townshend being very well off. And he earned a ton of money last year.
No wonder he is making new demos for a new Who album.
Don't care how much he has got.
I am greedy for more music. Make those demos, Pete.
Also, what happened to the Townshend solo album that was to be made a year ago? Someone in the know said all the songs have already been written. Not complaining, but would love to see that one released.

In the article Daltrey claims the album cost him money because "so few copies" were sold. It went Top 10 in the US, the UK, Canada, Sweden and Germany. It went Top 20 in at least 6 other countries.
I know physical media sales are radically down compared to the glory days of the music biz, but I fail to see how a band like The Who manages to make a loss on an album charting that well internationally.
I'm inclined to think this is more likely a case of Daltrey making an offhand joke which has failed to translate well into print.
