Thanks for posting Ron but every time Roger opens his mouth over Brexit I just cringe as he seems to be becoming the mouthpiece for the whole of the bands opinion over such a divisive policy in this country when I imagine Pete would have an utterly different viewpoint
Why can’t he just be quiet over something I’m afraid he seems to know so little about .Even now he can’t admit that what he voted for was so utterly wrong but what’s worse is that it’s a decision that will not impact his life one iota. And in in full Brexiter mode blames everyone else for not taking the opportunities of Brexit and blames the EU for punishing us. …🤔 And I can’t even be arsed with his equally disappointing opinions on COVID and ‘partygate’

Now he seems like a stereotypical old man who feels like everything used to be better in the past.

I'm a little late to this conversation, but Roger does have a valid point regarding streaming. Amongst other outlets I have some stuff on Spotify. A couple of days ago I checked my stats. Almost 400 streams and it's earned me the princely sum of 10 Cents. If I were trying to start a career or earn a worthwhile amount of money via that route, you can see the drawback. In the "olden days" if that were 400 singles or 400 radio plays, even with a rip-off Small Faces type royalty rate I would probably have made somewhat more than 10 cents! The positive aspect of online streaming is that it creates the purest democracy of sound. For public consumption anybody can upload anything they've created, anywhere in the world. The downside (and the irony) of such ease of exposure is that without a gatekeeper of some kind the overwhelming majority of new music is no more obvious to the listening masses than a single face in a globally-sized crowd. I would imagine anyone serious about starting a career in music these days (and I'm not talking your X-Factor types or your BRIT school graduates) would have to work their backsides off in a way not seen since Daltrey & co first threw their gear into the back of the van...
