Because, of course, Roger's got a great track record as a writing collaborator, hasn't he.........
With a bit of luck, his "friend" will realise what a bad idea this is and, then when the Freddie Mercury biopic comes out, we'll all understand - again - why these things never ever work.

I read something like that somewhere. Sacha Baron Cohen as Freddie-SHOCK . I deeply hope this will not become true.

Roger mentions in his interview that it was watching the movie "Gainsbourg" that's inspired him to try get the script done this yr - that he loved that biopic movie... i've not seen it yet....

Serge Gainsbourg, French genius and pervert, makes for a great film unlike Carry On Keith.

I think any attempt to translate Moon's life for a modern audience can only weaken his legend. Rock now lives and will live on in legends. Long live Rock.

This is a press release for general posting anywhere: MOON FILM STALLED OVER SCRIPTTHE WHO rocker ROGER DALTREY has confirmed a film about his late bandmate KEITH MOON has stalled over problems with the script. The musician has spent years working on the project, tentatively titled See Me Feel Me: Keith Moon Naked For Your Pleasure, which tells the story of the hell-raising drummer who suffered a fatal overdose of prescription medication in 1978. Austin Powers star Mike Myers has been tipped to take the title role, and the film is slated for a 2012 release, but Daltrey admits the project is in trouble as he can't decide on a suitable script. He tells Britain's Sunday Mail, "I can't get the right script to tell his amazing story. I can't find anybody who can really understand him." Daltrey even jokes that his bandmate Pete Townshend should take over writing duties, adding, "Maybe Pete should write it."

Drivel from Daltrey. Again. Given the now annual nature of this announcement I prefer to think of it as "tradition". ;D

personally i`d like someone to write and make something about moon, after all, all the elvis films over the years havent done him any harm, they havent brought him back to life either, but not harmed his status! if someone makes a carry on keith (quite funny i think), then someone might make a depressing keith, one might make another, at least then we can edit the best bits together and make a bit of a film about him, just to keep his profile out there and not just on these pages. my humble opinion!

Maybe not so 'bonkers'! It is not in question that Keith had multiple personality traits - in fact he could be likened quite easily to our 'hero' in Quadrophenia. He had a romantic side, violent side, was seeking 'more' and quite definately was a maniac on many occasions. Four films could quite easily be made about him and fill up hours of screen time - but I'd personally like to see a 'Quadrophenia' type film covering the years from birth to 1968 in B&W and a second film in colour covering the rest of his life.

Bonkers. Keith played great drums. Apart from that he was ,at times funny more than often a nuisance. Drums is what he was great for. You cant make a movie about drums.

....as this is an annual tradition to drag this out,my tuppence worth is that there isn't the box office interest in this to make it any more than a CBS mini-series for die hards

if it comes out,you can choose not to go....so does it really matter if it gets made?
|

|
Post by Yellow Printer on Aug 19, 2011 3:18:18 GMT
it does matter because it will cheapen his reputation as a great musician. If you watched the Brian Jones movie there is nothing in it about musical talent.it focuses on all the negative s**t with some added sensationalism that these low budget biographies tend to rely on.

And has anyone's impression of Brian jones changed as a result..? I've never met anyone who's seen it...it just wasn't a great movie. Or even a good one.
In the right hands a great movie could be made. I don't buy into this argument of "he's a drummer-no one cares " Look at Social Network - on paper this was like a geek movie. With David fincher,he transformed it..

Yes but it was/is topical (although I'm on it I don't get the interest in the film) - if they made a Jedward film right now it would sell out every performance for the next number of months, but make it in a couple of years time (never mind 30+) and would anyone be bothered??
