No i think it is gona happen. Myers is well up for doing the film..and hes a massive moon fan. With his weight behind the project I think it'll get made sooner rather than later

By the time it gets off the ground Myers will only be fit to play Moonies dad nevermind moonie.

myers has had a very bad commercial failure with The Love Guru flopped.... so I really can't see him taking on another risky project.. rumours are he's doing Austin Powers 4 to try and stay in the public eye.... the love guru and cat in the hat were commercial disasters so I can see him playing a safe one next, and then maybe taking another risk

Roger should f*** off with his "movie". Who cares about his 20 years in the making "movie". Utter balls! is Rog EVER went to starring in some a real great movie, except Tommy (although that majority of raw front of The Who fans dont like that movie, but this movie werent released only for them anyway)? NEVER!!! I'd attend that premiere in a heartbeat!

If this film has a shot in hell of getting made Roger's going to have to ease-up on the controls.
I think his personal ambitions to be seen as a genuine auteur, whether as an actor, producer or director, are drowning the project.

Let it disappear into Who mythology along with the roller in the swimming pool (ie - never happen).

Daltryey's not over the Moon[/u]
Rocker Roger Daltery has shelved plans for a who film about The Who bandmate Kieth Moon-because of rubbish scripts. Roger, 64, said writers "don't get" the story of the wildman drummer, killed by a drugs overdose in 1978.

Someone could probably make a film about the non-making of this film and it'd be quite an epic!

Someone could probably make a film about the non-making of this film and it'd be quite an epic! yes, it could be a nice movie of psychodramma genre, a movie based on that infinity dilemma about an scene of that Rolls Royce car in the swiming pool to be filmed or not to be filmed. Coen brothers, as really great directors of the genre ( "The Man Who Wasn´t There", "Barton Fink"), would be happy with the project like that!

I think its a film that needs to be done...it needs to be done right and with the right people. Not Mike Myers. It needs to be done in the same vein as 'Control' by Anton Corbijn and 'The Doors' by Oliver Stone. It could be a really great film if done with conviction and Sincerity

He may very well have been sincere when making The Doors, but that didn't stop him toying slightly with the facts.....and he has a very nasty habit of using the worst wig makers in Hollywood. I can immediately spot a Stone movie simply by the bad wigs, seriously. And can you imagine the amount of wigs a Who movie would require? I really don't want to be put through that.

you've got a good point about the wigs haha. ok maybe not oliver stone...but someone of that calibre.
p.s have you seen that oliver stone has just done a film about george bush! actually looks quite good..got josh brolin in the lead role.

It's too bad Roger's not going further with this, I think it'd be a great story to tell. I think if he wants the story to be the way he wants he ought to co-write it to make sure it goes the right way.

Yeah, I hope it's done right, too. That's why I hope Roger does it (or atleast someone who knew Keith well) and not some Hollywood director just trying to make money.

Roger and pete should both be heavily involved i think....but then again maybe they are to close to the subject? maybe it needs an 'outsiders' view. What do you think about Mike Myers playing keith?

The film will do nothing to enhance Keiths reputation! It will not be about drumming will it??? Roger couldnt direct traffic let alone a decent movie.

Yeah, the closeness to Keith might be the reason Roger's so picky. Maybe he doesn't want any bad views of Keith or something? I think Mike Myers does look a lot like Keith at the time the movie's supposed to take place, I'm just wondering how well he'd be able to pull off a serious role. Hopefully he can.

I'm afraid of Myers using his one and only English accent (used for Austin Powers and to horrific effect when he "imitated" Keith Richards on SNL with Keith playing Mick)...
