I can't even see PJ opening for anyone except maybe for a charity sponsored gig like the Who did at the HOB and RAH... Something like that. Pearl Jam is well established and their audience is vast. As for an opening act no way!

Poor Rachel.
Personally, I think she's a phenomenal piano player and on some of her tracks she manages a really cool fusion of a rock sensibility and classical flair.
The fact of the matter is that you don't hear many good pianists in the rock world these days. Most people who play the piano at her caliber venture off into more challenging compositional work of the classical world. I think her skill level when it comes to playing is easily the equivalent of Philip Glass.
As for her compositional skill, it's true that some of her pop songs smack of triteness. However, some of them are genuinely inspired. I remember actually listening to the requiem she wrote as a teenager. Anyone would could listen to that and then refer to her as "nothing special," simply has no idea what it takes to write orchestral music. Comparatively writing pop music is for infants.
I could easily see her finding a nice niche in the world of independent film scoring, like Anthony Phillips - one of the founding members of Genesis. Of course, this will hardly impress the people on this board who want nothing out of the Who but loud guitars and power chords.
I might mention that I personally think she's magnificent looking.

Tsk, tsk- Some people are not doing their homework. While coming up with the idea of taking her "In The Attic" show on the road with the band, Rachel will NOT be opening for The Who. With the response she's gotten from people on Who message boards, it would be a waste of her time and talent. She'll possibly be playing smaller venues in the same towns the band hits, however. Pete's brother Simon's band "Casbah Club" will be opening. And for those of you who can't make it to the show, thanks to Rachel's "In The Attic" coverage, you will STILL be able to catch bits of the concert and all the backstage goings-on, which I find almost MORE intriguing than what may be happening on stage!! It's a BRILLIANT idea. No one can dispute that.

It would be cool to have Casbah Club as openers, but its unlikely. Support acts are hardly the icing on the cake. Not saying the Who are involved in this, (judging by Who supports I've seen) but frequently the support band PAY to be on the tour. And still they get stitched up for no sound check and turned down amps/scrambled eq's.

It would be cool to have Casbah Club as openers, but its unlikely. . This was an entry Pete posted on his website not even a month ago, "stef" : "There has been a footnote to the articles I've read that suggest that my girlfriend Rachel Fuller may be opening some Who shows. She probably won't. If we are going to be nepotistic I would like to invite my brother Simon's band CASBAH CLUB. I saw them recently in London and they are intense: Who fans would love them." Perhaps you know more about this than Pete, I don't know. Maybe Simon turned down the offer.

it seems that usually it is a band that is also managed by curbishley. but now that sanctuary music is involved it could be anyone really.

How 'bout if Sheryl Crow supported the Who in some locations. Since she and Roger are good friends, and it would be a good way for Sheryl to promote her current CD.
