There is one bit of archive film footage in Lambert & Stamp no-one will have seen in a documentary before - the Who's helicopter landing at the Isle of Wight Festival in 1969. That's because the media were banned from the backstage area and the only person filming was my dad with his super 8 home movie camera. Ken Blake was also the electrical contractor for the festival and the experience (including the Who's landing and subsequent performance) is all captured in When Dylan Sank the Isle of Wight - if you're interested, have a look at www.dylan69.com where there is a lot more original archive material from the event.

The piece of video I really wanted a source for was the bit with The Who chasing a Rolls Royce around on a country road. From their attire, I was wondering if this was from a promo video for "Dogs"? I read they shot one but it's never surfaced (nor has one Lambert shot of the recording of "The Last Time").

That was my immediate thought upon seeing the clip, what with my vague interest in all things locational.
The annoying thing with that manner of quirky 60's video (and The Who certainly weren't lone offenders) is that the visuals give no clue whatsoever as to the intended soundtrack.

It could've been just to do a photo shoot. There are a few pics leaning over car bonnets etc but don't recall seeing an exact one to match the footage...

The footage is from late 1967. Looks like Scotland or oop North where they were touring around that time.
