Aha!- I found it somewhere else. Apparently going to be released the 13th of September- official title JOHN ENTWISTLE / SO WHO'S THE BASS PLAYER - THE OX ANTHOLOGY (SMEDD138) and billed as a "Two disc retrospective following his solo career...41 tracks!"
Sounds alright to me!

and... whatever happened to that Roger Daltrey comp that was supposed to be released by the same label? The releasedate is August 30 (according to Amazon). I have to say that John's "Anthology" (released by Repertoire Records in 199...) was very good as well. Although I don't like the overall sound of the albums he released in the 70s. The voice is buried under the backing tracks. It's a pity.

The voice is buried under the backing tracks. It's a pity. I think the reason for that might be the fact that he hated the sound of his voice- everyone does- so he mixed it down some...
