It's a Pete demo, called "I Like It The Way It Is", written around 1977. Nice demo, you can find it on the bootleg "The Other Scoop". There is also an officially released (but different) version on "Scooped".

Roger said, a long time ago, that Pete did hundreds of songs and so clearly, the band were shown lots, and only chose some. I like the example of Melancholia, terrific in demo, but lost in The Who version. But technically thats a production problem. Then there's the lyrics that Rog wouldn't be seen dead with, hence the counterpoint sung sections - but thats turned out as a great Who advantage in the long run ( imho). There are other ways than demoes though: naked eye was born of live warm up jams I believe (awaits shredding...).

Roger said, a long time ago, that Pete did hundreds of songs He released a lot of them on the "Scoop" albums, but it would be nice if he would release a big box-set full of demos. I believe Gene Simmons is doing the same next year: a box with hundred demos, called "One Hundred". But of course Pete's demos are way better than Gene's. Yes, it was played at the end of the shows in 1969. You can hear an early version of the chord progression on the Woodstock video, just before Pete tosses the guitar into the audience. "Old Red Wine" is another example, as is "How Can You Do It Alone", "Dance It Away" and "Who Are You" (first performed in Toronto 76)
