Which show was this please?

The show was on Canadian TV and I think it was a tribute to THE WHO. I think Bryan Adams sang BBE and Liam Gallagher was on the show, too, and possibly Billy Idol. For some strange reason I just remember EDDIE VEDDER'S sensational version of I'M ONE. Maybe someone else remembers this tribute to THE WHO better.

There's also the in the attic stuff - jack black etc Wayne Coyne (Flaming Lips) did a very memorable version of ICE on keyboards alone, with Pete on backing vocals. Have been constantly looking for the vid of this since i saw it. Very raw and emotional!

Well judging from your knowlage of Whitesnake I presume you think they started in 1987?well they didnt,1978,where they were, and still are a blues based rock band, but even if your point was directed at the late 80s incarnation of Whitesnake, you are still incredibly misguided, dunno how you could say something like "love aint no stranger/still of the night, guilty of love/gambler(yes ive used 2 albums for reference there) sounds anyhing like WASP's F*** like a beast/mean man, wildchild or indeed, blind in texas. Whitesnake were never a metal band either....I could go on but this thread aint bout that. No you're right, I'm not into Whitesnake and I am judging it from the early 80's when they released the sort of music that I think is awful. Plus a lot of Whitesnake fans hate the route Coverdale took the band during this period....(even if the videos with Tawny Kitaten were pretty hot... ;D. In a way for me a bit like Aerosmith who I think produced their best work during the 70's rather than the chart driven rubbish (again my opinion) they released later on.....But as you say each to there own I guess

This is the 2000 show at RAH from Nov. 27th, I believe, that was released on DVD and also on a CD set seperately.

I also know of a female artist named Petra something (European) who released a CD covering The Who Sell Out - every track. Even the cover showed her mimicking the fake ads done by the band.

Petra Hadens version of The Who Sell Out is very interesting but she gets the lyrics wrong on several songs.

"Circles" - Les Fleur De Lys, "The Kids Are Alright" - Calamities (off of a CD compilation called "The Best Of Rodney On The ROQ"), "My Generation" - The Fabulous Poodles (produced by The Ox himself, JAE!), "Pinball Wizard" - Genesis (they did this live as part of a medley with "Turn It On Again"), "Out In The Street" - The Smithereens. 2 Honorable Mentions: Summertime Blues - Rush (ok - a cover of a Who cover, but Alex Lifeson does quote "My Generation", riff-wise!) and "It's Not My Place {In The 9 To 5 World} - Ramones (NOT a Who cover, but it features a musical riff from The Ox's "Whiskey Man").

Forgot to add: "Baba O'Riley"/"The Kids Are Alright" {live medley} - The Tubes (performed as a tribute to Moonie after he passed on).

A few years back I discovered the Phish recording of them covering Quadrophenia. That was almost like rediscovering The Who! They really stayed true to the original. Quite impressive honestly

Quite impressive honestly I looked this up from Spotify today based on your message. Wow, it really sounds excellent indeed! Here's a link to the live album (entire Quadrophenia is even in the middle of the set!)
