I am listening to the "Kids are alright" and I must say that Woodstock was I think 35 years ago... I am not sure what the date was and the guys kicked total ass... their performance was so remarkable that I can't explain it in words. Especially with the sun coming up it was so f*k*g fantastic... I think Roger mentioned something about it but I dont' recall off hand. So my "where are they" caption. I know they were at the Hollywood Bowl but are they stopping in Chicago at all? Actually, I found out Eminem (I won't comment) was playing late night at the Aragon Ball Room. My son just told me... Heart is at the House of Blues tomorrow and Maryville has a feast tomorrow from 11am to 11pm. I was just wondering if the guys were in Chicago at all... or are they home now.. What is the scoop? I want to invite them to have a vegetarian spaghetti dinner at my place............... ;D Just joking. Ha, ha! BTW, I just found out that my nephew does the lighting for the Black Crows and his company is signed up to do the lighting for the Stones. This hasn't been confirmed. My son is going to Oz Feast Saturday night. I hope he is okay..... But I will go to the Maryville Event it should be fun....

If you think Woodstock is good, there's at least a dozen other shows filmed from 69-70 and are far better then that show. One story has a promoter of 40 years having the 1970 Denver shows. He say's these were the best shows he saw in 40 years and nothing else was near it. JD

The problem is that a lot of these shows filmed in-house were recorded on a primitive video system with a static 1 or 2 camera CCTV set-up, and have often spent the last 35 or so years not exactly stored in the best possible conditions.
Woodstock was professionally recorded, and of course was a momentous occasion in itself. At the moment the only pro DVD we have documenting a show of this period is the IOW, but a properly remastered Woodstock - despite the performance's minor imperfections - would put this DVD to shame with it's visceral energy alone.

I bet. Everytime I see the Woodstock footage of Townshend pounding on that guitar, Rog on vocals so electrifying mind you, and John's artistry on the bass and Moonie on the drums I get totally mesmirized. Hard to explain. Now what was the story about the Abbie issue? I don't recall precisely what happened. He talks about it a little on the TKAA. I remember him explaining that he does his job up there and he goes into this particular mode. The guy has got to be the best guitarist that ever lived... Not saying that because I am partial, I am saying that because I do believe that it's the truth. I think comeback of the Who even in these later years was meant to be. They deserved to get the recognition... Like Pete said in that '00 RAH concert to the one guy, "FO, I paid as well, probably 30 or 40 times more than you..................." Damn right! What was the story behind that one? I know I asked this before... but I don't really remember how it was explained.... Have a nice day, folks...

I will never propably understand why would like lie Woodstock...... I just don't get it... Well, to be fair, you don't like anything. It's the energy thing I think. Sure there were mistakes, but it was a very intense, almost violent performance. As just an audio thing I don't know if it would stand up (although I've yet to hear the complete boot) but when you combine the audio with the visuals it's very exciting.

don,t understand why he hit abbie or why he said they performance was s**t, me no unnerstand yer question patty.whass a bollock? A bollock is English slang for testicle. If something is a "load of bollocks" or someone is "talking bollocks" they're 'talking nonsense'. Abbie Hoffman: Townshend hit Hoffman becuase he tried to take the microphone to make a Political comment about John Sinclair (leader of the White Panthers) being jailed for 10 years for possessing 2 joints. The White Panthers Manifesto was thus: White Panther Party 10-Point Program 1. Full endorsement and support of Black Panther Party's 10-Point Program 2. Total assault on the culture by any means necessary, including rock n' roll, dope and f***ng in the streets. 3. Free exchange of energy and materials -we demand the end of money! 4. Free food, clothes, housing, dope, music, bodies, medical care - everything free for everybody! 5. Free access to information media -free the technology from the greed creeps! 6. Free time and space for all humans -dissolve all unnatural boundaries. 7. Free all schools and all structures from corporate rule - turn the buildings over to the people at once! 8.. Free all prisoners everywhere - they are our brothers. 9. Free all soldiers at once - no more conscripted armies. 10. Free the people from their "leaders" - leaders suck - all power to all the people freedom means free everyone !

Okay, I am glad that Pete slugged the guy in his balls and sent him off the stage! I wish that would have been filmed... It would have been quite interesting. ;D
At any rate with regard to Woodstock, I think it is the audio and the visuals and the energy that goes with it that just blows me away everytime I see Pete banging on the guitar and then tosses it out to the crowd... I did hear it was to stage personnel or something... Not clear on that.
Thanks for answering my questions... Night.

hell we fry bullnuts down here, tastes like chicken I think to make "bullnuts" more appetizing some places they refer to them as Rocky Mountain oysters. Now I like oysters, but I don't know if I am up to trying the Rocky Mountain variety...even if they taste like chicken! JK
