Just download Glasgow 1981 show. Has a live version of DYSMM. and I love it. Song is perfect for having long extended jamming in the end (not that they did it, shame) Much better than YBYB. They really should have played the whole freaking album live during shows. They still should... you know. "The Who doesen't play usual/Tommy/Quadrophenia but Face dances, My Generation/Who By Numbers etc." show That Encore CD I would buy and just p**s people of... the whole show is absolutely rocking. Seriously kickass Naked Eye,515 and Drowned etc.Kenney playing is great and there's no freaking comparison between Pete's sound then to now....

I think you're right in one point: you better, you bet is one of my least favorite who songs- live or otherwise. The lyrics are so cheesy...

The only songs I like from Face Dances or Its Hard are Entwistle songs, excepting maybe Another Tricky Day.John's songs just to me have more crunch!Jimana if you like those early 80's Who albums, good for you man. It's what you like.No worries!

So i'm suppose to take your views seriously when you talk nonsense like that... A damn sight more seriously than you apparently do. You rant on about the same old stuff all the time as though you're blessed with some kind of second sight, or some special knowledge. So, every time you rail at people for daring to disagree with your oh so perfect opinions, I'll just keep pointing out that virtually everyone else thinks Face Dances is a load of cr*p. OK?

I like some tracks of those albums. They're not good WHO tracks, but they are good Pete Townshend songs, like: "Cache Cache" "Daily Records" "A Man Is A Man" and John's songs like "It's Your Turn" (great rocker), "The Quiet One" and "Dangerous".

I like You Better You Bet, Don't Let Go The Coat, Daily Records and Another Tricky Day.
And on It's Hard: I've Known No War, Cry If You Want, Eminence Front is alright, Cooks County is alright...
I dunno. The rest are all somewhere in between "meh" and "cr*p" for me.
The Entwistle songs all kinda blur together in my head for some reason. I'm having trouble remembering which is which.
The odd thing about It's Hard for me is, a lot of the time it takes me numerous listens to get into a song. For example: RGLB and ORW. First listens I wasn't sure, after a while I grew to love them. But with It's Hard, I liked the songs less the more I heard them. The first time I heard the album I found something in almost every song that I enjoyed, but after a while it just started sounding...I dunno...bad.

I just heard Springsteen's Badlands on the radio. It is suspiciously similar to It's Hard.Hmm.... on hearing it I had to laugh and wondered who "borrowed"from who.I did know around the early 80's ,Pete frequented many Bruce shows in the U.K,and Bruce is a HUGE Who fan.

Some of I'ts Hards songs were written and demo'ed in 1975-76. JD

Any idea which ones, JD? I've thought most of the songs matched the writing style of WAY, and that the worst problem with the album was hurried production, so that the whole thing sounds forced and thin. Did they patch the album together out of old songs, or was this album in the planning stages before '79?
