I still think some of the 1979 gigs were some of the best they ever did,however his drum sound on the 82 tour sucked. Bad.

Totally agree, '79 through '81 they were still great on stage, but there was a noticeable drop-off (to me) on the '82 tour.

Me as well , had heard the mg album , recorded the Toronto show played it to death , rest is history . Don't know if the IH album rehearsals and the subsequent split had a part in the poor tour of 82.

Agreed, '79 is one of my favourite tour too. The MSG shows from september are without a doubt on the list of their best concerts ever. Near 2h30 shows with a lot of jams, improvisations, feelings. You can't say anymore that the Who died with Keith after listening these incredible shows. The 5 shows run at the Los Angeles Sports Arena in june 1980 are pretty impressive too.
