I just did a quick topic search on YouTube--it's all gone, there's almost nothing Who-related of any value left. The end of an era.
Of course, I imagine it's possible that stuff will pop on and off in the coming months--it must be a hard site to police. Still, it won't be the same.
Ziggy, I think you're absolutely right. If all that's left is essentially amateur comedy videos, then it'll be crushed by the competition.
How many billions did YouTube sell for?

Well, upon further investigation, it's not quite as bad as I originally thought, but a lot, a lot, of choice stuff is gone.

The daft thing is that because of the streaming used the picture quality on all the clips is only reasonable on a small window so even if material is copyrighted it's not as if it would stop those who were keen seeking out the actual DVDs ( if released). In effect YouTube acts as a marketing tool. As other posters have said.......if lots of videos are removed then the site will not be as appealing and the number of hits will reduce...especially if all non sanctioned music content is removed. They are killing the goose!

www.youtube.com/watch?v=et994A6chtM&NRI know U2's video for Window in the Skies was posted somewhere here, but I can't find the original thread. Anyway, they made an edit to include a certain windmil that was unjustifibly excluded from the original. (Oh, and to include footage of a certain band that didn't meet the response deadline, but that's another story.)

anyone know is the American Express advert Roger did available anywhere? I've vague memories of him sitting on a gate in a field with wellies and a hat "Do you know who I am?"

Just saw Keith drumming. They should have included more Who!!!

But they alas were removed, and that makes me cry even more! While we're on the subject, here's a stellar performance from the British Rock Symphony! Should not have been a duet, though. Just my love singing it himself would've been much more romantic!

The user Eddie629's acoustic covers of Who songs. He's an awesome guitarist, and actually can sing worth a damn. He actually has a REALLY good version of Slip Kid up! If The Who ever do an acoustic concert, this guy should be on stage, right beside Pete. www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=Eddie629

Current CIYW sucks so bad compared the power it used to have... might be good if instruments sounded good...

Current CIYW sucks so bad compared the power it used to have... might be good if instruments sounded good... Well, apart from John's bass I thought the '82 set up was inferior to the current, with Kenney's 'marching band' sound and Pete's cheap-sounding (to me, at least) Scheckter guitars. But that's just my personal opinion. Agree to disagree.
