What is it? The band is kinda weird. The female drummer is hilarious. It sounds like some poor person is playing the oboe to 'behind blue eyes.'

It's the Sadler's Wells 'Lifehouse' show. It comes off as a bit of an insipid occasion on film, but the theatre is so small that for those actually there it was a pretty good atmosphere, getting especially rowdy when the noisy Who stuff came into play. Sadly the energy just doesn't seem to have translated atall to the 'silver screen'.

Oddly enough I was just watching this DVD last night. Would have been nice to know before buying it that I'd get to see it for free today (but obviously the quality of the DVD is much better, so it's fine) I like it though. Obviously there isn't the Who level energy, but it's good. I particularly like the performance of Mary. Great guitar playing on that one.

It's kind of a curious show. I didn't watch the WhoTV today, but as I recall, I thought Pete played a high energy show, and several of the other performers were very laid back and casual--actually a drag on the whole thing.
The female "drummer" is percussionist Jody Lindscott, who has played with Pete for several years and also went on tour with The Who in their big band incarnation. The classical group is the London Chamber Orchestra, and I believe that Gaby Lester, who played violin on "Baba O'Riley," is the director.

Its a lot better than I thought previously. I've always liked the whole Life House thing... until this presentation. Having listened to the radio broadcast back then, it was the only time I thought of some constructive corrections that might be required. It seemed very unwound on a long winding road and the theatrical/music blend seemed off. Maybe I will get the dvd and find more to appreciate. ... or maybe not. Its worth another try though.

Yeh- it's not bad, just Pete singing with a fairly good backing band. I'd like it if I were to bother buying it!
