Por Favor my Spanish Who amigos!
I'm a little thrown by the Zaragosa, Spain announcement on July 29. I looked all over the web for any evidence of a festival or an appropriate venue in the Zaragosa area where The Who could be playing on the 29th. Anyone know of a Zaragosa festival that would be the likely candidate for the Who show?
The closest I found was a festival where survivors of near death experiences are carried through town in coffins. Would make a hell of a stage entrance, don't ya think?

Well this is the best reference I could find to a venue there: From a Jazz orchestra tour, www.semja.org/jan2002/index.html "Our last concert was three hours away in Zaragosa (between Madrid and Barcelona). Zaragosa has a population of about 350,000 and is brimming with activity, restaurants, architecture and culture. We played for another big crowd (about 1200 people) in a candle lit cabaret setting." No mention of their tunes rasing the dead though!

AnyWho, Matt's changed the list again and Zaragosa is no longer there. I'm pretty sure, 'tho, about Benidorm on July 30th and I'm going to leave it on my list. www.thewhothismonth.com-Brian in Atlanta

As I continue to obsess about this, I did find one press report saying The Who are going to Zaragoza www.typicallyspanish.com/news/publish/article_4204.shtml2008 sees the Expo returning to Spain with the Universal Exhibition heading to Zaragoza. The City Hall is currently organising a series of concerts as a ‘warm up’ to the event, some of them this summer such as Scorpions, Motorhead, Whitesnake, Saxon and Primal Fear. Also being confirmed are Bob Dylan, Deep Purple and The Who.

This may count as close to a confirmation. From Diariovasco.com at: www.diariovasco.com/pg060516/prensa/noticias/Cultura/200605/16/DVA-CUL-299.htmlHere's a translation: The Who will also perform in Zaragoza To the concerts of The Who in Barcelona (26 of July, Palau San Jordi) and Madrid (day 27, Palace of Deportes) the date of Saturday 29 has been added, in the Pavilion Prince Felipe de Zaragoza. They will be the creators of the historical group, Pete Townshend (guitar) and Roger Daltrey (singing), the drummer Zak Starkey (son of beatle Ringo) and Simon Towsnhend, brother of Pete, on second guitar.
