I bet they'll play longer then 110 minutes. Pete doesn't want to over commit the band. If everything goes well, we'll see longer shows. JD

Maybe they're aiming low because they tend to run over time? Didn't they get fined $20K at MSG in 2000 for putting the union employees into overtime? Plus, there are noise curfews in some venues.

I'm sure Pete is referring to the 'core show' as 100 minutes - he's said himself that there are other rarities and such that will be thrown in. For God's sake, he's promising what most people have winged about for years on this forum - some new material and a smattering of rarely heard rarities, so if that's not enough (along with the webcasts, DVDs and CDs of the shows) then just don't bother going to see then and save your money.

I totally agree with you...! They're touring and have new material surely thats a good thing! And knowing The Who..they won't stick to it (100 mins) anyway...hopefully!

There has been no prove of 'a smattering of rarely heard rarities'.... His diary just proved that there won't be 'a smattering of rarely heard rarities' and how much new material is actaully played is yet to been seen... one 11 min song ?

Such cynicism, and zero credit for Pete trying. They will stick to 100 planned minutes. And knock off 1 min for every "get on with it" and 4 minutes for every "magic bus". Extra long shows or a bit more encore ? ever rare. Better check out the web Attic for the rehearsals Tuesday.

You never cease to confuse the hell out of me. Pete posts a diary stating that they will play rarities on this tour and gives a small example of a few they're thinking of, and you say "See! I told you they'd never play anything different!" I'd love to visit whatever universe you live on, it seems like an interesting place...

I dont think a 100 min show is an issue ....set of 1 hour 40 min plus hopefully a 15-20 min encore ;D

I'm a bit confused as to what people are complaining about. I'd be happy with an hour and a half. On the the 'Who Live' site the gigs are listed as being 20.30 to 22.30, which is 2 hours.

An hour and a half plus an encore is pretty standard for a lot of groups. The Who have had a tendency to play for longer than the norm, which is why this excites comment.
Most of the bands I have seen have come in around this mark, so what's the big issue. Or are Coldplay "too old" to play longer too?

I'd rather have 100 minutes of the 2000, 2002 or 2006 tour then the 180 minutes of 1989. JD
