www.petetownshend.co.uk/diary/display.cfm?id=308&zone=diaryTonight is the first show after an exhausting rehearsal schedule, and kicks off a tour that will last slightly over a year if I get my wish to end it next year at Glastonbury. Now that will be the show to watch. We should be warmed up by then.

God i hope not - I`ve given up on festivals in the UK too many fights/drunks - past that i`m afraid - i think a London show would be the perfect end.

I would LOVE to go to Glastonbury but that time next year i will be preparing to go to the US for my third year at uni and will be needing every penny...as much as i love The Who I think my education would have to come first!!!

I think a Glastonbury gig has amazing potential.. Glastonbury aint the same as it was 15-20 years ago when I started going (86). There has previously been a lot of aggression from various parties.. "scallies".....townie 'gangsters' have all caused grief in the past. A large scale traveller presence no longer happens..although I thought the travellers presence enhanced the the festival..I used to spend most of my time there..'partying' Glastonbury has gone a bit 'upmarket' for want of a better term The main problem may be that tickets for any Glastonbury sell out so fast..often before it has been officially announced who is playing!

I wonder why the band doesn't play in Leeds at the end of the tour, like they did in 2000 with the RAH performance? In that case they know they'll be warmed up, there is the possibility of putting more rarities in the set and the mini-opera will be performed better. Let's face it: the first couple of shows are always a bit rusty..

I had asked myself that question too. Probably something to do with the booking of the location.
