Anybody check any stats? This must be the biggest European Tour they've done since the late 60's.

I can't see Roger being in top form singing three nights in a row. Singers, does your voice get stronger with more work? Thanks, JD

I truly am am wondering about his voice too and logic of doing this many shows so close. Would be sad if he will suddenly lost the little he has left. Would be terrible thing to happen on the last tour....

i may sound selfish hear and dont want upset anybody but, im going to t in the park festival and am glad that theres 8 gigs before my gig. this will mean the band will have had these gigs to iron out any rustiness and they should be on top form by then and rogers voice should be ok at that time!! i think i may be lucky as its probally best time to see the band. dont fancy first couple of gigs as it takes time for them to get into swing of things and also dont fancy end gigs as it may be a touch to much for rogers vocals. i hope not and all goes well at all gigs

Since 1999 The Who have been pioneering the laid-back we're taking a break now tour, but you're right that this one seems to have a different focus. Here's a hint from ContactMusic that it's a considered decision.
Now, ContactMusic seems to be the tabloid of online music sites, so you always have to take these articles with a grain of salt. Also, they've unfortunately left out Clayton's response, so we don't know what he's recommended.
>DALTREY LEARNS FROM U2'S 'GREED' THE WHO frontman ROGER DALTREY was convinced fellow megaband U2 were greedy for touring on such a grand scale, before realising their tactic made sound business sense. The MY GENERATION star, who kicks off a staggering 18-month tour with The Who this summer (06), has never looked back since following in the Irish rockers' footsteps. He says, "I was having coffee with (bassist) ADAM CLAYTON from U2 some time back and said, 'Why do you do mammoth tours?' "You can't be so greedy that you need to own the whole of the south of France. "Now I realise that these tours have to be done on a massive scale to be viable."

Comparing it to the Tommy tour of 69-70 might have been overstating the facts but it looks like the biggest European tour since...1989. They didn't tour Europe in 1989 unless you count 4 nights in Birmingham, 4 at Wembley and 2 at RAH. This may be The Who's biggest European tour ever as, back in the 1960's, they used to do individual countries, then shut down for a while, not treat the Continent as if it were the U.S. as they are this time.

Anybody from Ulm around here? I saw a picture of Ulm Muensterplatz and it seems quite small for such an event

Russian Roulette is what they did in 2000 with the band not rehearsing much. It will be interesting to see how Roger will sing with so many shows. I remember in 1989, he started lossing his voice from playing to many shows. Will find out soon? Maybe will hear a 90 minute version of Sparks......JD

So, for the people in Europe, does everyone have a show near them? Or are there still people who will be missing out?
