getlive.co.uk has The Who playing Brighton Centre on the 18th June. Tix not available yet.
Great venue. Saw the band play there in 1981 - memorable for seeing Pete stuffing coke up his nose off his amps at regular intervals.

Matt Kent has this up on Pete's web site too but he himself is not aware of the gig.

He also has the wrong ticket site link.
I'll be keeping an eye on this gig myself, quite fancy seeing The Who in Brighton.

Damn, I wish I lived in England! I would love to see The Who at the Brighton Centre. My Brighton Centre bootleg from '79 is the best show I've heard yet from that tour. To see The Who in the land of Quadrophenia would be awesome!

Come on over Hammer,we dont bite. I've been over once ( New Years Day 1980, just missed Kampuchea Concert - The Who & The Clash - I would have died and gone to Heaven! ) and absolutely loved it, except for the lukewarm beer. I did buy some good Who memorabilia though, and went to Sheperd's Bush. If only I had known Pete was joining The Clash onstage at the Brighton Top Rank while I was there - I'm still kicking myself. I plan on going back sometime, but with two daughters looking at going to college in a few years $$$$$, it may be a while. Thanks for the offer though, Whiskeyman.

Got mine - via ticket master -they seemed to have more choice than see tickets - can`t do standing when i`m taking the wife -shes too short & i have to admit standing in the front at IOW 2004 was rather hard work, bones crushed ,sweat & burgers & p**s. Typical festival i suppose.

Got to say I'm a bit stunned by having them play just up the road from me at this point in their career. I thought I was permanantly condemned to having to trek up to London every time. But no, the boys are wandering ten miles up the road. Great stuff. I wonder how much Quadrophenia they'll be playing given the location?

Is it me or is it easier to get Who tickets these days? In the past never had much luck with smaller venues on day of sale (why you never hear me slag touts off) I think a good chunk of Quad would go down well here Papillon.

The Brighton Centre isn't a particularly small venue though - it's not like the Forum was. And there's be no trailing of the concert in advance in the Argus or the County Times, so I doubt anyone apart from hardcore fans knows anything about it.
Add in all the concerts already announced, and getting tickets shouldn't be that difficult for someone who logs on 2 minutes after tickets go on sale.

Good points. At least with the internet you dont get hours of the engaged tone driving you mental.

So this evening, I'm going to wander over the road and tell my neighbour (who's been saying for about two years now that he'd love to see the Who, and keeps borrowing my live stuff) that if he wants to come, he's got a ticket.

There's a half page advert in the Argus for this concert tonight. I wonder what the advertising deadline is. Interesting that Matt didn't know anything about it. Do they tell him anything?

Can someone please direct me to a decent seating plan for the Brighton Centre? The only one I can find (on Ticketmaster) is useless.

There always used to be one on the Brighton Centre's own website, but the site seems to be down at the moment so I can't check. Anyway, here's the address if you can get it to work: www.brightoncentre.co.uk/Though I suspect you might already have tried that...

It's sold out already? Seetickets looks like it still has seats available, what makes you say that?

Generally gigs appear to sell out for a while, as everyone is pulling tix at once, but some of those go back into the pot as callers look for something better, etc.

I got front row balcony seats 5 days after they went on sale so I'm not complaining. Similar story for me with Brighton that my wifelet wants to come is quite small (ah!) so she fancies a seat.
