Two 'bad' rumours:
Miss Fuller will be supporting The Who throughout the tour. Miss Fuller will be the host of satelite broadcast from the shows. ('in the attic - on tour'?)
Horrific as these rumours may sound, they have a whiff of being at least 50% Pete ideas don't they? Surely the latter sounds like the kind of thing that has been discussed and planned with 'the man'.
The reality: If this is to be a long tour, Pete is going to want to have his girlfiend with him. He's clearly besotted with her. And it seems that recently his life revolves around her. She doesn't seem like the kind of person to go sightseeing and shopping at each of the destinations - she's desperate for the limelight, a 'look at me, look at me' kind of girl.
These plans are designed to give her something to do, and keep her happy during the touring months, but still have her on hand (or other body part!).
I expect that Roger is less than happy about it - But realises that....
Unhappy Rachel = Unserviced Pete = Unhappy Pete = Strained Pete Vs everyone else relationship = No tour in the first place = No fat pension for Roger (he doesn't get publishing royalties remember)
Am I right?

One thing you are wrong on is Roger needing to tour to have a fat pension. Roger has always been financially conservative while at the same time collecting huge paychecks throughout his career. That man is a multi-millionaire. If he tours with Pete, it's because he loves to sing Who songs and it's as simple as that.
What I don't want to see, or atleast hear about, is that Rachael Fuller woman ever going onstage with The Who. As long as she's backstage and not meddling in Who business, then that's alright. But of course, it sounds like she's already starting to meddle in their business with this "Who TV" cr*p. ROGER! Put your foot down the first time Pete mentions her going on stage with The Who. I'd rather there be no tour than to have her up there. Us long time Who fans are counting on you!

The Who support 'rumour' has obviously come about because of a joke made on Who TV. In my view, on a musical basis, Fuller's style is totally unsuited to a Who support slot.
The satellite van? That looks to be a distinct possibilty. Apparently Fuller is talking to her Manager about arranging sponsorship for the venture. I would like to hope that such a broadcast would give a fascinating insight into what goes on behind the scenes during a Who tour, but I have a nasty feeling it'll be more along the lines of Fuller showing us that she knows Townshend's famous friends, which to my mind would be a completely wasted opportunity.
Roger's finances? I doubt he's short of a penny or two. He not only has money coming in fairly often from his Film/TV sideline, he still gets royalties from all his solo albums, and he has a couple of self-penned songs on Who albums....and let's not forget, he does get performance royalties for every Who album he's sung on and every Who song that gets played on the radio. He's certainly not in Townshend's financial league, but he can more than afford to live his life however he chooses. As Hammersmith says, Daltrey does genuinely seem to love touring with The Who and perfroming with Pete, despite their occassional differences of opinon concerning the band!

OK, finances aside, that was an uneducated cynical view.
Hope I'm wrong about all of it to be honest!!

fuller is positoning herself to be the yoko ono of the who. she will be a back up singer with simon may even do a few of her songs with pete on acoustic just to promote her lousy career. i bet she is even writing songs for the new who album.

This whole thing would've been much easier if she knew how to play bass like John Entwistle. ;D
Seriously, a woman in the Who would be a disgrace, and I'm trusting Pete (still) agrees with me. The Who are the ultimate lads' band (with a lot of female fans, I must add), and I don't think they could produce the same musical mayhem on stage with some girl prancing around. Even if she is Pete's girlfriend.

Two 'bad' rumours: Miss Fuller will be supporting The Who throughout the tour. This isn't even a rumor. It's not happening. Someone on her blog asked if she would be the opening act, and she said no. That constitutes a rumor? What's wrong with that? It won't have any impact on The Who's performance or your enjoyment at the show, for some people the backstage stuff may be interesting, and for everyone else: don't watch it. Oh, the HORROR!

She's been going along on the tours since 1997. You didn't notice?

CSI. I'm sure it supports Roger very well.

Pete said in his diary that she wouldn't open for the Who anyway but play a few other, small venues along the way. Ralf

You know what? I think Pete should do whatever he pleases. After all he has given the world about four decades of music that no other musician alive can compare to. To press him for something new is going to be pretty hard. The legendary Who will always live on in our hearts. If he comes back next year and does the same sets I won't care. Just being there will be great for me. I don't even care if Rachel does do back up even though I still don't think it would be appropriate to put her style to open up for the Who.... Plus many of us will know why she is doing this... nepotism and politics aside... let him do what he thinks is appropriate. He is the legendary Pete Townshend and Roger is the legendary Roger Daltrey the two remaining members of the greatest band I will ever know in my lifetime. Long Live Rock !! Thanks, Pete & Rog for your many years of service.... Seriously. Helped me in many ways....

Seriously. What was the issue with Yoko Ono? I never really followed the Beatles. I was never cared for them that much. Always a Who fan. Townshend's music was always the best. So I don't really understand much about the Yoko Ono issue with the Beatles. Can someone elaborate on it a little? Thanks.

She is said to have been one of the main reasons (maybe THE main reason) for the Beatles to separate. Whereas no person except George Martin was allowed into the recording studios for years, all of a sudden Yoko was there and all the time and never left again, which annoyed the other 3 Beatles...
