For today's Poll, we are excluding "First night nerves every one night stand" "They still run EL-KA-BONG here ?"
and the next release option... "That 'Unmade in Japan' cover will look cool now"
mainly cos there's only eight options. ... which didn't come out too well either... full text ?
(1) shortened set, only 90 minutes cos they were supporting Aerosmith. (2) try to get honourable Tokyo on feet. (3) register disquiet at lack of Tokyo on feet. (4) Aerosmith ? Pah! Smash! We're a real rock band. (5) Solo's didn't work too well again tonight, I'll take this fender out for good. (6) Those bloody wedge monitors are playing up again, take that ! (7) Hey these Japan Fenders are a bit weedy, I bet I could split this in one go... (8) There's Boris.

I am being optomistic, but I think that Pete saw a bloody huge furry spider and decided to smack it one. There are some wierd creepy crawlies over there in Japan.
However, I am convinced that he did it for Rachel since it was her birthday.

In that case, can't wait for Rachel to waste a Concert Grand in return !

My two cents:
(1) It was their first time in Japan and the fact that the legend of the Who has Pete smashing guitars, that is what they gave the first time audience.
(2) Pete was angry because Aerosmith came áfter them.

Ahh, my favourite phrase fro the punk et godfather << and on the dance floor broken glass, and bloody faces slowly pass, the empty seats in numbered rows it all belongs to me, you know. >>
To the same tune... This is s'posed to be "a justification of breaking an occasional guitar (which may also be used as a coffee table)" and the struggle for the freedom to play a few ad hoc notes, some of which work, and of course some don't. You can't (often) get the sublime without the ridiculous.
Expression here is just akin, to Nihilisms left hand wing, so many instruments must clash to hint at rocks slight lack of tact (gotta get the audience interest back)
Playing your soul in a noodling blues the front row cheers and then it boos the empty cans fly to the sound of ego's flailing fretboard up and down So I may broker musical stings and bounce across the stages wings but my passion will always out when the neck is crunched into the ground

I really like the Spider idea Stef. Maybe Pete Townshend has a nest of trained kamikaze spiders that scuttle cross the floor on cue to motivate him to go splat with the strat!

Cool animation, Islander.
For all those playing the bedsit gig, with only Spiders to applaud, Our scales may not trill and thunder so, with audiences aboard.
( But at least we enjoy it )
