This may just be me, and is somehwat off topic, but I'm getting this horrible feeling that Rog is only in this for the money. In my opinion this is a horrible exploitation of poor Moonie's tragic life. It wouldn't be the first time Roger did anything for some money. I would love to see a film about Moon but I'm not sure this is the best way to go about it. Plus, the normal movie goer will go to see a film because it's a FILM. Not because they're Who fans. The Who fans...they're in the bag for going and spending money to see this picture, but regular movie fans will see it for it's FILM credibility. There needs to be SOME bits about his earlier life and I think Jason Schwartzman would be perfect and the transition between him and Meyers (with the help of makeup and prostehtics) would be flawless (if done tastefully). All movie goers are NOT WHO FANS. They need a little help understanding, so early life is essential.

If he was in it for just the money it would have been done by now - thankfully,it'll never see light of day for all the reasons stated in this thread!

...Not necessarily. I mean, maybe it's been put off because of the money. Too little...too much to make... Never know. I hope it does though, I'd love to see it. I'm not sure it feels right, that's all.

I'm not sure it feels right, that's all. He would've done it already if he wanted/needed money. He is very keen on getting it right. Finding the right director and screenwriter and a good enough and truthful script. He's been explaining that forever, so I don't understand your theory. I think it's pretty crystal clear.

I'm not sure it feels right, that's all. Money not the issue but, from my own perspective, fans wouldn't like it if it's all full of uban legend stuff (which unfortunately a lot of people know Keith for) and the public won't like it if it is based on 110% fact and doesn't have exploding swimming pools in car glove compartments!! Actually, maybe the fact that it wouldn't be a high grosser means that money may factor in there somewhere right enuff!

You underestimate the modern audience. People are intriuged by actual stories nowadays.

If Pete wasn't in it for the money we wouldn't be hearing those Who songs on tv for CSI and auto ads.......face it peeps.....anyone in the business of entertainment doesn't have an aversion to money or they wouldn't be in the business!! As far as most of the movie-going audiences...most go to see what looks exciting or interesting in the trailers they see in the theatre or in tv commercial trailers or go by what they read and hear from those wonderfully open-minded critics hahahaha I would go to see it for both reasons: I love the Who and I love movies.

A german actor, Dieter Landuris, very talented indeed! He's actually just playing a role in a rock music movie, coming to cinemas 2010 'Rock it'. He sings, he dances, great guy!

The only reason the famous director Daltrey talks about this in interviews is because he has sweet f.a. else to talk about artistically. This project of his has been doing the rounds for 20 plus effing years. He should stick to his very worthy TCT work and forget any cinematic pretensions.
Please, no Keith Moon er "movie". Thanks.

Lets face it. There are no legends anymore are there? The music managers today castrate their prodigies. The PR companies shove their hands up the stars arses and work them like puppets. They certainly are not, 'talking about MY generation'. (to coin a phrase)

I can't believe some of the angry comments I have been reading on this stupid subject. Does anyone really give a fiddler's f*** who plays Moon is a meaningless movie? And what does it matter how many overdoses he had or how much he drank or what his lifestyle was like? So what. Whoever plays him would have to be a complete f**ked up idiot just like Moon was when it came to drinking and drugging and spending money and having no concept of moderation. Sure, he was a fantastic musician, at least some of the time, and was probably a very nice fellow and would have been fun to party with and such meshugas, but his lifestyle is what killed him and I am sure we all know somebody who died because of being an idiot when it came to addictions that ruined their lives. All of the actors mentioned that are assumed would be good to play Moon in the movie are all wrong for the part. I think Madonna or Eminem or one of the Jonas brothers would be better suited. They have been fooling people with acting like they are important music stars and care about their audiences and do it very well. Isn't that what acting is all about? To fool people into thinking that you are what you are pretending to be? Denzel Washington would be good for the part also I think. Or maybe his is too old for the part. Ouch. I almost forgot. He's black, so I guess that's not such a good idea. Anyway, Moon lived his life like he wanted to and did what he wanted to do and now he is dead and Daltrey and all the other parasites who want to make the movie should start writing movie scripts for Hollywood because the whole Bulls**t idea of making the movie would be a good movie if they all wrote a script about making the movie and that would actually be better because they would be playing themselves and not have to worry about who was going to write the f***ng script for the Moon movie and who the hell would be playing the part of Keith Moon. Are you with me so far? Hmmm. I didn't think so. Anyway, Moon is dead now so what does it matter one way or the other if a movie is made or not. I will never watch it and don't want to know if it gets made or not. But I will periodically log onto this site and see what comments are still being posted about this very important subject. After all, it has been about ten years since the movie was first mentioned by Daltrey, so if he doesn't die soon, maybe the f***ng stupid thing will actually get made. But I don't think so. If not, oy vey, but who cares? No insult intended to anyone. Just trying to keep the comments flowing for those who need to reply to such things. Shalom.

Mike Myers will not play Moon, says Roger. "I love Mike. He would have made a fabulous Keith Moon. It's just we couldn't find the script. It's no reflection on Mike." "And if I could have got the right script and Mike had done it, I'm sure it would have been nomination time. I mean, don't write him off, but unless I can get a script very quickly, he will be too old." jam.canoe.ca/Music/Artists/W/Who/2009/11/05/11640301-sun.html

"I'm having terrible trouble getting the story into a script that isn't just Carry on Keith". Because of course a film titled "See Me, Feel Me: Keith Moon Naked For Your Pleasure" is really going to attract deep and meaningful scripts.
