The film needs an actor who can flat ou act, end of story. if he's famous so what, as long as he's good.

Does anyone know if Keith had journals or tapes or anything with a clue in them as to what was rolling through his mind? Maybe close friends, family members or Roger or Pete may have some info on the inner workings of Keith? It would be a good start to present him as the artist he was....find an actor that actually does research the parts he takes.....I'd love to see someone portray Keith with as much background info and truths as was available. I have a feeling that because Keith presented himself as a loony fun-loving wacko, no one bothered to look past all that to find the true Keith....the talented artist.

As far as i know Keith didnt keep any journals or tapes. You wont get any deeper into his mind than Tony Fletchers book 'Dear Boy'. Would of been interesting if Keiths first wife Kim had wrote a book about him.....or if Annette walker-lax had done a book about him, altho she only knew him for 4yrs.

Beyond the drums what exactly was Keith's talent? Drinking? Taking drugs? His f***ng indestructability from 1966-1976 is pretty impressive with all the abuse he gave his body...

I'd say being the greatest drummer of all time plus being hilarious, funnier than alot of comedians are great talents and shows a talented man/artist.

His talent was drumming. So how you gonna make a film about drumming? Being a prankster and a drunk is hardly epic. His life was no Shakespearean tragedy either. A spoiled child maybe. I cant believe people are still hanging on to this thread for dear life.

As much as I love Keith's drumming and his personality in The Who, as I've gotten older I grow tired of his antics...and this is just as an observer removed by decades from the initial incidences...and it's no secret John, Pete, and Roger grew tired of his s**t as well...

He was a bad husband and father to his daughter. Would you like to be in a hotel room next door to him? Or his neighbour? He deserved a slap . Anyway the lights went out on all that rock n roll bad behaviour ages ago. Its boring.

Kinda twisted, but at least he was being himself. Seriously, don't discuss Keith, if all you're going to do is criticize him for his mistakes.........BTW, EVERY person on this planet is NOT perfect. Blamelessness is the best the human race can do, perfection is non-existant in ppl

There's alot of people who would be better off and maybe live longer if they behaved like someone else rather than themselves.
Now that I'm old and wise I've come to realize that my "heroes" from my youth just might turn out to be someone I wouldn't want to spend ten minutes with in person. I love The Who but the fantasy parts have fallen away a long time ago.
On topic.... This movie will never be made.

Who are we to say how Keith lived his life was wrong or immoral. He wasn’t a saint…but not everyone wants their idols/heros to be saints. We all only live once….Keith would of only had one regret…not seeing his daughter grow up. And for all the stories you can tell me about what a horrible person he was I can give you one back about how kind and how generous he was. Keith was afraid of life being boring. At least he lived! (albeit for 32 years)

I love The Who but the fantasy parts have fallen away a long time ago. Absolutely. A lot of my youthful heroes I've come to feel this way about...Lennon (a total prick), Jagger and Richards (debauched druggies), Moon (an immature jackass), Bonham (evil when drunk), Hendrix (insecure druggy), etc...I love each and everyone of these people for their musical contributions (and *some* aspects of their personalities) but as a grown man I find a lot of the antics annoying...

Dont get me wrong John Lennon is a total legend as are all of the beatles. The Beatles are right up there for me along side The Who. John was funny but became arrogant in an elitist way...if you know what i mean, its difficult to explain. He wasnt always like that either, was more towards the end of his life.
