I didn't think overdubbed Leeds in '70, only in '95...

At least they got rid of that cheesy backwards guitar loop studio affect thing that Magic Bus had on the original 1970 release......
I'm guessing the full Magic Bus will never be officially released now, will it. Or do we have to wait for the 50th Anniversary issue?

Well I hope this time he stays closer to the original live sound of the band. With his 1995 mix I really didn't like the way vocals on some of the "new" tracks were pushed to the fore.
In comparison to his previous mix I'd ask for louder guitar and bass, leave the drums alone, lower the vocals, thank you.
Pete Townshend often claimed The Who were a power-trio with a vocalist. Everyone who mixes or remixes a live Who album recorded during the Moon-era should be required to bear that in mind.

The reissue has been online at iTunes and hdtracks.com for quite a while already. You can take a listen there.

I just took a quick listen to the samples on HDtracks, and it doesn't sound too far removed from the 1995 remix to me, just with louder bass and drums.
I'd have to hear it properly to be more objective, but thats my inital impression from a very cursory listen.
I must admit I find it hard to get excited about any variation upon Leeds. I've already bought the album on LP and CD, and this will be the fourth digital mix we've seen. I'm pretty much done with rebuying music I already own.

How do you think it sounds? To my ears, it sounds more organic, less harsh than the '95 mix. Less Jon Astley, more Glyn Johns so to say. Also, there does not seem to be such a drop off in sound quality in the Tommy section as on the deluxe edition.

It's good to hear the Tommy segment is fine. That slump in quality on the previous issue was one hell of a screw up.
If this new mix ever makes it to CD I may pick it up just for that.
