"Going Mobile" with Pete on the acoustic guitar! He connects with the audience that way!! (Great opportunity for Roger and I to chat! )

I'm tired of this, let's try Pictures of Lilly, So Sad About Us, Leaving Here, Young Man Blues, Shakin All Over, ICSFM or AQOWHA. Don;t you think it's time to change things up a bit? JD

I thought the setlist The Who played in 2004 - especially at Cardiff - was outstanding, it had a great mix of songs. One of the songs I would like to see added to the set would be "Music Must Change", especially since Rabbit is still playing with them. I think this song sounds great on the 30yrs. dvd - would bring back memories of that great 79' tour.

Actually Bowie did the same thing by having fans pick his songs. And if you saw the Stones show a few years ago, every city picked their favourite songs and the lads played one or two of them, which was displayed on a jumbotron. That was kind of neat. However, Pete & Rog don't seem to have as much of a repetoire of great hits to vary from so it might be a mute point.... and secondly, given Pete's history of screwing up popular songs on stage, I believe he has the ability to remember no more than 20-30 tunes anyways. That is why they play the same 15 songs every concert from 1982 onwards. I know because I've seen them through the '70's, 80's 90's and 00's. I gusee you can tell I'm older than 30.

My Hope for the 2006 tour, it would be about 25 tracks each night and hopefully would appeal to both casual and hard core fans, and be worth going to multiple shows.
I Can't Explain Substitute Anyway Anyhow Anywhere 2 NEW TRACKS Regular change, different one each night: Pure and Easy, Love Ain’t For Keeping, Bargain, Long Live Rock, Join Together, Slip Kid, Eminence Front, A Quick One. Pinball Wizard 1 OR 2 NEW TRACKS Baba O'Riley 2/3 Acoustic numbers from: I’m One, Sheraton Gibson, Naked Eye, Behind Blue Eyes, The Seeker, Too Much of Anything, Slip Kid, Imagine A Man, Blue Red and Grey. Regular change 2 each night: Happy Jack, Pictures Of Lily, I Can See For Miles, I’m A Boy, A Legal Matter, The Kids Are Alright (short version), NEW TRACK You Better You Bet Who Are You My Generation Won't Get Fooled Again
Encore 1 4 track Quad Medley
Encore 2 See Me Feel Me Magic Bus
Rotate the new songs so hopefully the whole cd is played over the course of the tour.

What if they don't play even one song that's familiar? There's supposed to be a new album, you know.

What if they don't play even one song that's familiar? There's supposed to be a new album, you know. I would like some new songs, but I doubt they can fill a whole set list with it. A combination of five new songs, a bunch of rarities and a max of four obligatory ones (WGFA, MG) would be ideal.

Here is my setlist, taking in mind their age and vocal range.
I Can't Explain Who R U (single version) Punk and the Godfather Sea and Sand 5:15 Naked Eye(Acoustic) Blue Red and Grey In a hand or a Face Mary Anne (bring it back) Young Man Blues I'm Free Bargain My Generation
Magic Bus (end on a light hearted note, but powerful jam)
short and sweet. To keep them on their toes, they can include a rotation of 2 songs, such as Dont Let Go The Coat, Dirt Jobs, Going Mobile, My Wife, WGFA, Acid Queen etc

you dont like Doctor Jimmy Sara? I heard it once when Who's Next did Quad at the Downtown in Long Island last February. Powerful, with that brass section. I'd have to hear the Who themselves do it or buy Quadrophenia.

Pete is in his 60s now. He still power chords well but very few leaps. Usually at the end of a song. I haven't seen him slide on his knees since 1979 at Kampuchea. JD
